为选育高产优质玉米新品种,黑龙江省农业科学院绥化分院利用自育骨干自交系绥系607(黑龙江早熟骨干自交系合344后代)与早熟热带种质3498(外引78599种质)进行杂交选系。杂交后,针对黑龙江省主要病害,通过人工接种丝黑穗病菌与大斑病菌选择抗病株系,在世代S0至S3增加试验密度压力选择耐密植株;在世代S4时进行配合力跟踪测试,确保目标基因不流失;最后在决选时结合适中株高、穗位高与较早成熟期,最终育成熟期早、配合力高、抗病性强和综合农艺性状好的玉米自交系绥系709。用其组配的杂交种熟期早、抗逆性强、品质优,成为黑龙江省玉米育种中重要的早熟种质资源之一。
