琉球和朝鲜都是中国传统的藩属国,在对其遭受日本的侵略这一问题上,清政府本应同等看待,但是清政府在实际对日交涉中却采取了轻视琉球、重视朝鲜的态度。究其原因,主要是受两者的战略地位、清朝的海军力量及其清政府大国虚荣心等因素影响和决定的。 Both the Ryukyu and North Korea are traditional Chinese vassal states.
