It is a well-known fact that electrocardiographic changes occur in almost every case in patients treated with antimony potassium tartrate, but the medical profession lacks sufficient knowledge about the serious arrhythmia that can be caused by the general therapeutic dose of this drug. This article reports the occurrence of paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia, ventricular flutter and fibrillation in four young Japanese schistosomiasis patients treated with antimony potassium tartrate. Two of them died after repeated Adams stokes of 14 and 15 1/2 hours, respectively, and the other two recovered automatically. The first case had an electrocardiogram in one episode
