全世界至今还没有一个国家在首都举办大型国际美术双年展,但今年九月金秋之际,中国将首开这个纪录,在首都北京举办首届国际美术双年展。这是中国美术史和世界美术史上的一件大事,全世界为之瞩目。这次北京双年展,有29位中国著名美术家和美术理论家担任策划委员,获此头衔不但意味着美术界广大美术家予以的尊敬和信任,同时更意味着赋于的重大的历史责任和现实义务。为了帮助全国美术家更全面更深入地了解北京国际美术双年展的深层理论意义和历史作用,为了促进北京国际美术双年展办得更清醒、更顺利、更有质量水平,本刊特向全体29位策划委员发了邀请信,请他们就本刊记者提出的5个问题,坦诚地向国人发表自己的智慧见解。下面,我们将各位策划委员的“笔答记者问”按姓氏笔划依次发表,以飨美术界及社会各界关切北京国际美术双年展的同仁和朋友。
No other country in the world has ever held a large-scale international art biennial in the capital.
