Experiments compared the effects of Angelica, Salvia miltiorrhiza, and Jixuetun on the isolated and in vivo heart. The results were all inhibited. Angelica had the strongest effect, followed by Salvia miltiorrhiza, followed by Jixuetun. Large doses of angelica and salvia miltiorrhiza can cause atrioventricular block in the heart of the body. Salvia miltiorrhiza can dilate blood vessels, while angelica and chicken blood can shrink their blood vessels, and the latter two have similar strengths. In isolated rabbit ear veins, Jixuetun showed a contraction effect. Angelica and Salvia miltiorrhiza were used for relaxation. Angelica was stronger than Salvia miltiorrhiza. The three drugs all reduced the rabbit’s blood pressure, and the effect was the strongest in the angelica, followed by the chicken blood, followed by the salvia miltiorrhiza, and both reduced the blood pressure of the dogs. The effect of the salvia miltiorrhiza was the strongest, the chicken blood was the second, and the angelica was the second.
