Objective To investigate the risk of fractures and the relationship between bone mineral density (BMD) and BMI calculated by FRAX, a fracture risk prediction tool for type 2 diabetic patients. Methods A total of 278 diabetic patients were selected to carry out relevant questionnaires, collect relevant clinical indexes, measure bone mineral density and calculate FRAX score. To investigate the relationship between FRAX score and BMD and BMI in type 2 diabetic patients. Results The BMD of L1-4 and femoral neck in type 2 diabetic patients increased gradually with the increase of BMI (P <0.05), the incidence of major osteoporotic fracture (PMOF) in 10 years and 10 years The incidence of hip fracture (PHF) after the group no significant difference. Conclusion There is a correlation between BMD and BMI in patients with type 2 diabetes, but there is no correlation between FRAX score and BMI.
