《红楼梦》是中国古代文学的巅峰之作,其内容涵盖了服饰养身、传统习俗、医药饮食、诗词曲赋、艺术建筑等社会生活的各个方面,堪称中国的文化百科全书。其中的曲赋诗词更因其在推进小说故事情节发展中的重要作用而备受瞩目。本文就林黛玉《桃花行》的三种英译做一比较研究,通过展示不同译者在传递原诗意境上所做的不同努力,实现对三个译本的比较分析,以期增进读者对《桃花行》英译本的理解和欣赏,并就《红楼梦》的诗歌英译提出一些参考意见。
“Dream of Red Mansions” is the pinnacle of ancient Chinese literature. It covers all aspects of social life such as costume and body building, traditional customs, medicine and diet, poetry and songwriting, and art and architecture. It is called China’s encyclopedia of culture. Among them, Quxu poetry attracts much attention because of its important role in promoting the story development of novels. This paper makes a comparative study on the three English translations of Lin Dai-yu’s “Peach Blossoms”. By demonstrating the different efforts of different translators in delivering the original poetic conception, a comparative analysis of the three versions is made to enhance readers’ English translation of the understanding and appreciation, and “Dream of Red Mansions” Poetry English translation put forward some suggestions.
