The French Petroleum Institute (IFP) has developed the Prime-G + process for the ultra-deep desulfurization of FCC gasoline. The butane-fed FCC gasoline first enters a reactor, selectively hydrogenating the diolefins under mild conditions, and converting the mercaptans to heavy sulfur-containing substances. The stream from the selective hydrogenation reactor is then separated into FCC naphtha (LCN) and FCC heavy naphtha (
