为开发计算机技术在眼外伤临床医疗和科研方面的应用，选择１９８１～１９９１年本院眼科住院病人１１９８５例中的眼外伤患者４２１０例作为研究对象，运用系统科学的方法和计算机应用技术，设计调查表格，浓缩病案，把有用的临床资料信息代码化输入计算机，建立数据库。编制相应的软件系统，按临床科研的需求进行信息资料处理与加工。结果：该系统储存数据符号约４０００００个，完成图表１００多个。初步研究中设计科研课题１０余项，撰写有关学术论文１０多篇。结果表明：系统的建立如同架设临床科研计算机之间的多功能桥梁，并可拓展到临床多学科、多病种，为医学专家和计算机人员开辟新的合作领域。
