桃城华侨农场建于1956年,地处广西西南部,属亚热带气候地区,年均温21.3℃,常年降雨量为1346毫米,正常年份霜期3天左右,最长年份15天,也有终年无霜日。全场有土地68379亩,多属赤红壤,质地粘,呈酸性(PH4—5)、地力瘦。1969年开始种植剑麻,现有 H·11648麻4165亩,1985—1986年剑麻纤维产值均占当年全场总产值的51％以上。
