The effect of salinity on survival, growth, feeding and oxygen consumption of juvenile red-sole American Sciaenopsocellatus juveniles was studied at water temperature (16 ± 1) ℃. The results of 30d showed that the survival rate of American red juvenile fish in fresh water was the lowest (26.7%), while the survival rate was 100% at 8, 16, 24 and 32 salinity. When the salinity was 16, The fastest growth, followed by 24, 8, 32, slower; feed conversion efficiency is also the highest in the salinity of 16, followed by salinity 24,32,8 in order of decreasing; oxygen consumption rate at a salinity of 16 When the lowest, 8 when the highest. When the salinity is 16, the main reason for the accelerated growth of American red juveniles is that osmotic adjustment reduces the energy consumption.
