The tropical western Pacific warm pool is the region with the highest global surface temperature and the largest total annual sea-air energy exchange year. Its maintenance and change play an important role not only in the occurrence and development of E1 Niño, but also in the changes of atmospheric circulation in the middle and high latitudes. In recent years, many experiments and studies have been done on the tropical western Pacific warm pool at home and abroad, and some meaningful results have been obtained (Wang et al., 1989; Wyrtki, 1989; Huang Ronghui, 1994; Dong Min, 1994; Wajsowicz, 1994). However, most of these researches focus on the influence of warm pool on the general circulation and the East Asian climate. However, there are relatively few studies on the main characteristics and variations of the warm pool itself,
