Probably, the Chinese literati is the most romantic group in the world. They are cynical, they resist rituals, and they admire seclusion. This elegant little circle should not have thought that it was precisely under their leadership that sentiment has become a social trend, even for thousands of years. And how to avoid both the hardships of the journey and the long-term enjoyment of the beautiful scenery, the most ideal way is to create a “second nature” - private garden. “Benevolence is Leshan, and the wise are happy.” Confucius’s words combine the landscape with the character of the people. As a result, everything became aloof. Yes, those rare places, irrespective of their size, have a masterful gardening technique that shows the host’s strength and interest. Even better, these gardens also include the philosophy of Lao Zhuang, the essence of Buddhism and Taoism, the romanticism of the Six Dynasties, and the interest in poetry and literature. Because of this, they have survived long years and passed on.
