The Raman spectra of lead titanate films were investigated and a new soft mode was found to satisfy the Curie-Fes relationship. The intensities of A1 (1TO) and E (1TO) increase abnormally with increasing temperature. XRD and XPS studied the lattice structure, including lattice parameters, stoichiometry and oxygen vacancies.
