【附注】D.H.劳伦斯(David Herbert Lawrence,1885-1930)是20世纪英国文学史乃至世界文学史上一位举足轻重的作家,也是20世纪英国最独特和最有争议的作家之一。他笔下有许多脍炙人口的名篇,其中《查泰莱夫人的情人》(1928),《儿子与情人》,《虹》(1915),《恋爱中的女人》(1921),《误入歧途的女人》等都有中译本。国内读者和学者大多把注意点落在他的小说上,事实上他的诗歌也同样值得重视。D.H.劳伦斯的诗歌特点是把客观叙述与主观意象叠合,具有较强的隐喻性,属于典型的意象派风格,读者可以从这首《在船上》窥见其意象风格的延续。
【Note】 David H. Herbert Lawrence (1885-1930) is a pivotal writer in 20th century British literary history and even in literary world history. It is also one of the most unique and controversial writers in Britain in the 20th century. There are many popular articles in his works, including “Lady Chatterley’s Lover” (1928), “Son and Lover,” “Rainbow” (1915), “Woman in Love” (1921), “ Woman ”and so have Chinese translation. Domestic readers and scholars mostly focus on his novels, in fact, his poems are equally worthy of attention. D.H.Lawrence’s poetic feature is the superimposition of objective narration and subjective imagery, which has a strong metaphorical style and belongs to the typical style of imagery. From this “on board” readers can see the continuation of their imagery style.
