The nuclear wastes in our country containa certain amount of SO_4~- ions. Therefore, once the nuclear wastes are processed with the solidification of borosilicate glass, a yellow separated phase called yellow phase often appears, which is very soluble to water. The authors suggest two methods to solve the problem. One is to wrap up the yellow phase in the basic glass so that it will not appear on the surface of the glass. The other is to eliminate the SO_4~- ions by reduction method, thus to do away with the yellow phase. Both methods work well to the aim. The present paper has provided some useful data and information to the practical problem of solidification of nuclear wastes in our country.
