一、什么是玉米的叶龄一株玉米主茎上一般有16—24片叶子,因品种而异,早熟品种少,晚熟品种多。自出苗到抽穗开花,玉米的叶片由下而上一片一片地展现。对于具体品种来说,由叶片展现的数目可以反映内部幼穗分化时期和发育上质的变化。通常把玉米主茎上展开叶的数目称叶龄。展开叶以叶片与叶鞘交界处的叶枕(或称叶环)露出为准。例如幼苗第5叶的叶枕由第4叶的叶鞘中露出,即为第5叶展,叶龄便是5,如图1。
