中国水利学会农田水利专业委员会成立及灌溉排水技术讨论会于1981年1月在河南省新乡召开。参加会议的有水利部、地质部、农业部、农垦部、农机部和中国科学院的代表,还有各省、市、自治区水利部门、各流域机构以及设计、科研、院校、情报出版等单位的代表140多人。 会议交流了农田水利建设中的灌溉和排水技术经验和科研成果。并针对我国农田水利的发展方向,提出科学技术方面的建议。会议总结了建国以来水利建设的成就,其中全国新建水库86000多座,总库容4000亿方。建设万亩
