嗅球中的中间神经元来源于从哺乳动物前脑室下区迁移而来的神经元前体细胞,以往众多的研究均发现嗅球在神经元迁移过程中没有任何导向作用。最近的研究发现嗅球能分泌一种对神经元前体细胞具有吸引性导向作用的物质,从而吸引神经元前体细胞朝嗅球迁移。嗅球具有吸引性导向作用的发现解释了神经元前体细胞在头端迁移渠道中能有序迁移的部分机制,但至今仍不明确此种物质的分子特性。
Middle neurons in the olfactory bulb are derived from neuronal precursor cells that migrate from the subventricular zone of the mammalian forebrain. In the past many studies have found that the olfactory bulb has no guiding role in neuronal migration. Recent studies have found that the olfactory bulb secretes a substance that is attractive for targeting neuronal precursor cells and attracts neuronal precursor cells to migrate toward the olfactory bulb. The discovery that the olfactory bulb has an attractive guiding role explains part of the mechanism by which neuronal precursor cells can migrate orderly in the head-end migration channels, but so far the molecular properties of this substance are not known.
