从言、从物模态与限定摹状词用法之间的关系问题,是摹状词研究同时也是态度句研究中的一个重要问题,但一直以来都没有得到清楚的回答。文章首先立足罗素、斯姆利安等学者的分析,考察从言、从物模态与限定摹状词的初现、再现的关系;其次,基于唐奈兰、克里普克等学者的认识,探讨从言、从物模态与限定摹状词的指称性、归属性用法的关系;最后,通过对克里普克、巴威斯等对限定摹状词用法的分析,探讨从言、从物模态与限定摹状词的指称性用法(包括语义性指称和说话者指称)、归属性用法(包括外在归属性用法和内在归属性用法)、同位性用法以及函数性用法之间的关系。
