(Reporter Xu Kai) In recent years, with the rapid growth of the number of private cars in China, the imbalance between supply and demand of parking facilities in cities and the disruption of parking order have become increasingly prominent. In order to alleviate the difficulties of urban parking and traffic congestion, the “Urban Parking Facilities Planning Guidelines” promulgated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China (hereinafter referred to as the “Guidelines”) require that all localities and institutes study and formulate standards for parking spaces allocated to buildings. Liu Heming, deputy director of the Urban Construction and Construction Department of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, introduced at the press conference. The Guideline refers to the parking of private passenger cars.
