明年是唐山地震十周年,唐山市人民政府决定建设唐山地震纪念碑以志纪念。地点选在市中心区,用地4.8公顷(东西长320米,南北宽150米),北临市干道新华道,南接人民公园,是人流最密集的区域之一。由于纪念碑意义重大,位置又很显要,为了求得理想的方案,特向各有关单位征集设计方案。截止1984年底,共收到方案134个。前不久,唐山市人民政府邀请专家进行评选,最后选出二等奖2个,三
Next year is the tenth anniversary of the Tangshan earthquake. The Tangshan City People’s Government decided to build the Tangshan Earthquake Memorial to commemorate the memorial. The location is selected in the downtown area, with a site area of 4.8 hectares (320 meters from east to west and 150 meters from north to south), north of Xinhua Road, the main road of the city, and the People’s Park at the south. It is one of the most densely populated areas. As the monument is of great significance and its location is very important, in order to obtain an ideal solution, special design proposals will be solicited from all relevant units. By the end of 1984, 134 proposals had been received. Not long ago, the Tangshan Municipal People’s Government invited experts to conduct the selection and finally selected two second prizes and three.
