Cellulose is an important polymer in plant composition. Cellulose is also an important industrial raw material and a renewable energy source. Transgenic technology can reduce the lignin content of trees and increase the cellulose content. Lignin synthase gene 4-CL is an important gene involved in wood regeneration. In our study, antisense expression will be used to reduce the lignin content and increase the cellulose content.
