A test method for hissing and flowing sound suitable for vehicle air conditioning thermal expansion valve (TXV) is introduced. The hissing test system consists of an artificial head, a microphone and an accelerometer, which collect noise and vibration signals and evaluate the quality of the condensate flowing through the liquid tube located in the front of the TXV through the sight glass. Tests have shown that the fundamental cause of hissing is that the refrigerant does not completely condense into a liquid state, causing the mixture of gas and liquid to enter the TXV and the mixture to expand to create a hissing sound. If the refrigerant is in the form of liquid into the thermal expansion valve, the hiss basically can not hear. The design of the TXV (not covered in the article) and the isolation of the evaporator have an impact on the hiss. In addition, the test method proposed in this paper has been used to conduct actual tests and analysis of causes.
