我国的海洋地质事业自新中国成立后经历了创业、发展、创新提高阶段,在海岛、海岸带与海涂资源综合调查、近海大陆架油气勘查、陆坡天然气水合物探查、滨海砂矿与海底矿产勘查评价、海洋区域地质调查、地质-地球物理系列编图、深海大洋和极地地质科学考察等诸多学科领域,取得了巨大成就,实现了“查清中国海、进军三大洋、登上南极洲”的战略目标。
