云南省公路交通史编委会公路编写组,在云南省档案馆查阅了八百一十六卷历史档案,抄录和复印了档案资料三百四十六万字,从而在编写《云南省公路交通史·公路篇》(初稿)中,明确提出云南省公路建设史上的“四个最初”与“六个第一”。即:最初筹备修筑公路的组织,是一九三七年七月立案的商办“临阿个汽车公司”,拟修建阿(开远)个(个旧)公路,但此路当时并未修成。
