本文依据清代社会经济发展水平，把全国划分出四种不同的经济类型，具体地分析了每一种经济类型生产力发展的概况、阶级关系及其在全国经济上所占的比重，统治阶级所采取的政策。作者指出，这种划分方法，目的在于说明历史发展的复杂性和多层次性。适当地注意这一点，对于全面考察清代的社会经济状况和总体水平，或许有所裨益。 Based on the level of social and economic development in the Qing Dynasty, this article divides the country into four different types of economy, and analyzes in detail the general situation of the development of productive forces in each economic type, the class relations and their share of the economy in the country.
