Capitalism is now in its worst form since the end of World War II. The rate of economic growth continued to drop, the overall level of indebtedness in the country continued to rise, and the inequality in income and wealth distribution continued to increase. This article argues that at present there is no force capable of reversing the deterioration trend of economic growth, financial stability and social equality and ending the mutual reinforcement among the three. Now it is time to rethink capitalism as an end-of-history phenomenon. The end of capitalism is the process of capitalism’s own chronic decline. This article lists the five kinds of systemic chaos confronting today’s developed capitalism: stagnation, oligarchic redistribution, plundering of public resources, corruption and global anarchy.
