The application of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) in developing countries will be the subject of a series of two-year symposiums sponsored by the United Nations and the United States. The U.S. State Department agreed to provide 500,000 U.S. dollars for the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs to undertake this plan. On 20 and 24 August this year, the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and the Malaysian government will jointly organize the first symposium in favor of developing countries in the Asia Pacific region in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. On November 26-30 this year, it will be held in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
