近年造纸工业原料缺乏,嫩竹、马尔杆、麦杆、烤烟杆等供不应求。一些造纸厂利用龙须草(蓑草)作原料造纸很好。因龙须草草长无节、纤维细长、容易漂白,是造纸工业的好原料。龙须草是一种多年生野生草本植物,一般在荒山野坡生长,不择土地,不同农业争地,容易发展,而且草根又多,有利于水土保持,龙须草繁殖方法有三。
