徐克曾经是香港新浪潮电影的重要代表人物之一。多年来,他参与制作了许多具有影响力的影片。徐克将武打美学与电影特技融入电影创作,创造出光怪陆离、令人耳目一新的新武侠电影,从而在商业与艺术上获得双赢。作为一门视听艺术,电影必须借助于画面来塑造人物,叙事抒情。而徐克对电影的画面造型美学有着别样的偏执。早在1983年,《新蜀山剑侠传》的画面特效就由好莱坞的几位专家担任特技顾问,极具中国传统文化特色的仙侠故事被现代特效包装得神秘而宏大。19年之后翻拍的《蜀山传》和2012年初上映《龙门飞甲》也都保留了徐克对于视觉美感的追求。徐克是一个高产导演,仅90年代就参与了32部影片的制作,其作品风格呈现出多变性和多样性。

Tsui Hark, a high-yield director, involved in the production of 32 films in the 90s alone. His style has been characterized by variability and diversity.
