大家都知道《茶花女》是根据小仲马的同名小说改编的,这个故事在当时已被传诵一时,今天更是家喻户晓。不过,不论是原著小说还是改编的舞台剧,都没有威尔第的歌剧出名,这实在是那音乐所赐。毫无颖问,这是威尔第最受欢迎的作品,而其中的音乐也是歌剧中最为流行的音乐。无独有偶,《茶花女》的女主角和威尔第以前两出歌剧一样,都为爱情牺牲,最后还付出了生命,但《茶花女》更富于人情味。《弄臣》中的Gilda代公爵一死,只是出于少女的天真;《游吟诗人》中的Leonora
