As the earliest manufacturer of electronic cash registers in the world, Omron has been manufacturing ECR and POS for nearly 40 years, and a large number of cash registers are provided to NCR, SWEDA, ANKER and other manufacturers each year. Omron cash registers were one of the earliest international brands to enter the Chinese market in the early 1980s. In April 1997, in order to promote the market development of Omron cash registers in China, Omron established the Business Systems Division in Shanghai to manage the sales in China and Hong Kong. In the Chinese market at that time, there were three types of machines: IBM, SIEMENS, and NEC. Types I and II machines, Sinodot, and TEC took up most of the market share.
