Sudden invasion for foreign sympathy On 1 August 1990, the sirens were sounded throughout Kuwait, the routine of the first day of each month. However, the next day, when the Iraqi tanks were really coming, these sirens were not given a warning because of the lightning invasion of Iraq. The Kuwaiti royal family received a briefing two hours before its invasion and immediately retreated to neighboring Saudi Arabia. One of Emir’s younger brother, Prince Fahd loved, died in a martyred martyrdom to defend the royal palace. Some say he was deliberately left to defend the reputation of the Sabah family. A few weeks later, the leader of Kuwait, Emir Jabir El-Ahmad al-Sabah, came to Tajf, a small Saudi town, to re-establish itself on a pile of hills.
