This paper studies how to establish a mathematical model to predict the working performance of Rexroth-type and Humphrey-type screw mills. These models reveal the operating characteristics of the spiral concentrator and its advantages and disadvantages under specific conditions. The article introduced the model and discussed them in detail. The basic components of the model include determining the water distribution, the proportion of sorting, the amount of short-circuit materials and sorting equipment characteristics. The models listed simulate the entire range of variation of the major operating variables (feed rate and pulp concentration).
