江泽民同志关于“三个代表”的重要论述，站在世纪之交的历史高度，科学地总结了建党近80年来的经验，对党的性质、根本宗旨和历史使命作了新的阐述，是在新的历史条件下全面加强党的建设的伟大纲领，也是进一步推进改革开放和社会主义现代化建设的强大思想武器。“三个代表”是统一的整体，其中，代表最广大人民根本利益是我们一切工作的出发点和落脚点，是我们党与其它一切政党的根本区别，是党风廉政建设的关键所在。
Comrade Jiang Zemin’s important exposition on “three represents” stood at the historical height of the turn of the century, scientifically summed up the past 80 years of party experience, and made a new exposition of the party’s nature, fundamental purposes and historical mission. Under the new historical conditions, it is also a great ideological weapon for further promoting the reform and opening up as well as for the socialist modernization drive. The “three represents” are a unified whole. Among them, representing the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people is the starting point and the foothold of all our work. It is the fundamental difference between our party and all other political parties and the key to building a clean government.
