随着古罗马由城邦共和国向世界性帝国的转变．瓦解了其公民以爱国主义为核心的优秀的道德品质的三大社会基础：１．大地产制取代小农经济，瓦解了罗马传统道德赖以存在的经济基础；２．在国家管理制度的转变中出现了权力监督的真空；３．希腊化文化对罗马产生了巨大的负面影响。于是，罗马出现了全面的道德失范．这主要表现在三个方面：（１）行政道德严重缺失，即政治极为腐败；（２）奢侈之风蔓延；（３）婚姻与性关系混乱。道德的全面失范消解了共和精神，帝制的出现不可避免。
With the transformation of ancient Rome from a city-state to a worldwide empire. Disintegrated the three major social foundations of the excellent moral character of its citizens centered on patriotism: 1. Large-scale property system replaced small-scale peasant economy and disrupted the economic foundation upon which Roman traditional morality existed. A vacuum of power oversight has emerged in the transition to a state management system; 3. Hellenistic culture had a huge negative impact on Rome. Thus, Rome appeared a comprehensive moral anomie. This is mainly manifested in three aspects: (1) a serious lack of administrative ethics, that is, political corruption is extremely high; (2) the spread of luxuryism; and (3) marital and sexual confusion. The total failure of morality dissolves the spirit of republicanism and the emergence of the imperial system is inevitable.
