苏竞存教授于1994年7月8日与世长辞了,我们怀着极其沉痛的心情悼念他、追思他。他是白族人,是我国著名的体育家、学者,生于1915年,师承于我国著名的教育家体育家袁敦礼。解放前曾任教于西北师院、云南体育专科学校、国立国术体育专科学校、河北女子师范学院、北平师大等。 新中国成立后,苏竞存教授先后担任了教育部和高教部体育处(部直属处)的处长,负责管理和指导全国学校体育工作。1957年加入中国共产党。作为新中国教育部主
