Smoke clouds of years, a memory of the historic city wall impressively appeared in front of reporters. The section of “Focusing on the Yangtze River Delta” selected Yangzhou as the first city to “focus on” Jiangsu Province. It is precisely because Yangshi is very much in the spotlight of historians looking at the Yangtze River Delta. History contains: In 486 BC, King Wu Fu made a fortress in the town of Shuanggang in the northwestern part of Yangzhou in the early days of Kaiyang County, and opened a ditch (the key passage of the Grand Canal after the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal) to communicate with Jiang Zhun. Many cities were still in their infancy at that time; in the Sui Dynasty, Emperor Sui Yang Yang as the center, in the ditch on the basis of South extension North expansion. Yangzhou Xiongju between the Yangtze River and the Huaihe River, guarding the Yangtze River, Canal Interchange, is the hub of North-South water transport. Water is the general business, Business is the gathering, the Tang Dynasty Yangzhou is the first metropolis in southeastern China, a major port opening up. At the end of Tang Dynasty to the Song Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Yangzhou were repeatedly battled by troops and soldiers, but they were eventually prosperous due to the strong water transport.
