王绶1897年4月1日出生于山西省沁县乌苏村,幼年随其父在私塾读书。15岁时到太原上中学,四年后被录取到山西大学特别预科班。1919年进入金陵大学攻读农艺专业,毕业后留校任教。1931年由金大选送到美国康乃尔大学作物育种研究院深造,回国后致力于农业科学研究,曾任金陵大学农艺系主任、教授,西北农学院教务长、教授等。新中国诞生后,1950年调北京任农业部粮食生产司司长、中国农学会
Wang Shou was born on April 1, 1897 in Wusu Village, Qin County, Shanxi Province. His childhood was studying in his private school with his father. At the age of 15 came to Taiyuan High School, four years later was admitted to Shanxi University Special Foundation classes. 1919 Jinling University to enter agricultural professional, after graduation to teach.
