[Objective] To analyze the in vitro antioxidant activities of fruit pedicels extracts from Lycium barbarum L.by different solvents, and to determine the contents of total flavonoids.[Method] By employing colorimetric method, contents of total flavonoids in different extracts were determined. The free radical scavenging activity of each extract was measured by DPPH method.[Result] Different extract fractions of fruit pedicels from Lycium barbarum L.were provided with DPPH free radical scavenging activities,of which the n-butanol extracts were highest in scavenging activities and showed no significant differences to that of Vc.In addition, total flavonoid content in n-butanol extracts was significantly higher than that inothers, which reached as high as 61.26 mg/g.[Conclusion] The antioxidant activity of fruit pedicels extracts from Lycium barbarum L.was related to the content of total flavonoids in it.
