薛其坤教授,1963年生于山东蒙阴,在中国科学院物理研究所获博士学位。先后在日本东北大学金属材料研究所和美国北卡罗来那州立大学物理系工作学习近8年。1997年获得“国家杰出青年科学基金”1999年至2005年任中科院物理所表面物理国家重点实验室主任。他在材料物理相关领域发表的论文被引用超过1300次,1998年入选中科院“百人计划”,2004年因全同纳米团簇工作获得国家自然科学二等奖。2005年12月16日,41岁的薛其坤教授被增选为中科院院士。
Professor Xue Qikun, born in 1963 in Mengyin, Shandong Province, received his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has worked in the Institute of Metal Materials, Northeastern University and North Carolina State University for nearly eight years. In 1997 won the “National Outstanding Youth Science Fund” From 1999 to 2005 Ren Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of physical surface physics director of the State Key Laboratory. He published more than 1,300 papers in the field of material physics and was selected as the “Hundred Talents Program” by Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998, and won the second prize of National Natural Science for his work on the same nanoclusters in 2004. On December 16, 2005, Professor Xue Qikun, 41, was selected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
