英国皇家护理学院(RCN)近日更新了名为“当病人要求你帮助其死亡:RCN对如何回应加速死亡请求”的指南,帮助护士及医疗辅助人员合理、合法应对此类场景。新指南主要由5部分内容组成,在5年前的原有初始版本上,增添了新的资源,帮助护理人员“承担并引导此类艰巨谈话”。指南指出:护士需要认识到,当病人在表达“想要尽快终结自己的生命”的时候,可能也是另一种对于疼痛的表达,他们并不是真的要求或鼓励
The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) recently updated its guide titled “When a Patient Asks for Your Death: How RCN Responds to Requests for Accelerated Death”, helping nurses and paramedics to reasonably and legally respond to such scenarios. The new guide is mainly composed of five parts, adding new resources to the original initial version five years ago to help caregivers “take and guide such hard talk.” The guide states: Nurses need to recognize that when patients express “that they want to end their lives as soon as possible,” it may be another expression of pain that they are not really asking or encouraging
