At the request of the International Geodesy Geophysical Union and the International Geoscience Consortium, the Consortium for Science and Technology proposed a plan to establish this joint Inter-Continental Lithosphere Commission to be implemented in a public meeting in Canberra in December last year Over the “Lithosphere Dynamics and Evolution, Earth Resources and Disaster Reduction” program.
