Triacontanol is a new plant growth regulator, after two years of 1979 and 1980 tests show that it has a variety of vegetable crops to promote early maturity, increase yield, improve disease resistance. In 1979, Guangxin Brigade of Songpu Commune, Harbin Daowu District, used triacontanol produced by Petrochemical Research Institute of Heilongjiang Province to soak cucumber seeds for 2 hours in 1PPM aqueous solution to reduce the damping-off disease of cucumber seedlings by 62%. Spraying the cucumber plants produced in the autumn greenhouse significantly controls the spread of powdery mildew. In order to further confirm the application of triacontanol in vegetable crops, the “Triacontanol” was tested on a variety of vegetables in Guangxin Brigade in 1980.
