心肌重构与多种心血管疾病的发生、发展密切相关,是一种复杂的病理过程,其发病机制迄今尚未完全阐明。基质金属蛋白酶(MMPs)是一类锌、钙依赖性的蛋白水解酶家族,是细胞外基质降解的主要介质,MMPs的正常表达及MMPs/组织金属蛋白酶抑制剂(TIMPs)比例适当是维持心肌胶原纤维、心脏结构正常的重要因素。近年来研究表明,基质金属蛋白酶参与多种心血管疾病的发生、发展。检测MMPs可能作为一种诊断心血管疾病的非侵入性手段。某些药物及MMPs抑制剂可以阻断MMPs的功能,为心血管疾病新药的研发提供了新的理论基础。
