北京出崇文门往东,有条繁华的大街——花儿市。因这里曾是绒花儿、绢花儿、纸花儿生产和销售的集聚地,故而得各。绒花儿又称“京花儿”,包括头花儿、胸花儿、瓶插花儿等等,因为是用(?)丝染色做成的,所以统称“绒花儿”。老北京的妇女,逢年过节,走亲访友,都要插戴;结婚喜庆之日更少不了它。在民间,绒花儿的谐音是“荣花”,寓有吉祥、祝福之意,人们喜欢图个吉利儿,插戴它更可以增添节日喜庆之时的欢乐气氛。
