US Kellogg Company will design, install and test a complete set of coal liquefaction facilities for the US Department of Energy for research and development purposes. The facility includes refinery units for direct and indirect coal liquefaction plants and coal liquefaction products. This work is under way and will be completed in 199. The U.S. Department of Energy will use it to continue research to reduce the cost of producing liquid fuels from coal. One of the key strategies of the U.S. Department of Energy is to use coal liquefaction to produce synthetic fuels to ease the United States’ dependence on imported crude oil.
