1988年8月21至24日,第五届国际会计史学家会议在澳大利亚悉尼大学召开,参加会议的有来自美国、英国、意大利、日本、中国、加拿大、波兰、匈牙利、瑞典、芬兰、挪威以及澳大利亚、新西兰等14个国家的学者120人,中国首次派代表参加这一国际会议。中南财经大学会计系郭道扬教授作为中国会计史界唯一的代表出席了这次大会。8月22日大会开幕,悉尼大学校长J.N.沃德教授致欢迎词。他在欢迎词中强调指出,会计史的研究是当今会计理论研究工作的主要组成部分,是指导未来会计改革的推动力量。他号召世界会计史学家们要努力为这一事业奋斗,去实现会计史学研究的预定目标。大会探讨了当今世界会计改革和会计史学研究中的许多重要课题,还展出了各国会计史学家的专著与
From August 21 to 24, 1988, the Fifth International Conference of Accountant Historians was held at the University of Sydney, Australia. The meeting was attended by representatives from the United States, Britain, Italy, Japan, China, Canada, Poland, Hungary, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Australia, New Zealand and other 14 countries and scholars 120 people, China for the first time to send representatives to participate in this international conference. Professor Guo Daoyang, accounting department of Zhongnan University of Finance and Economics, attended the conference as the sole representative of China’s accounting history. August 22 opening of the General Assembly, University of Sydney President J.N. Ward delivered a welcoming speech. In his welcoming address, he emphasized that the study of accounting history is a major component of the current research on accounting theory and a driving force for guiding future accounting reform. He called on world accounting historians to work hard for this cause and achieve the intended goal of accounting historiography. The conference explored many important topics in the study of accounting reform and accounting history in the world today, and also exhibited monographs and reviews of accounting historians of various countries
