油菜花药培养研究始于七十年代,1975年我国从白菜型油菜(Brassica。campestris)中成功地诱导出了花粉植株,随后又获得了甘蓝型油菜(B.napus)的花粉植株。所采用的方法通过诱导愈伤组织的途径来获得花粉植株的。但由于使用的培养基中激素浓度较高而蔗糖浓度又偏低,导致花丝、药隔、药壁的体细胞极易产生愈伤组织,不仅给油菜花粉植株的诱导与鉴定带来了很大的干扰,而且造成花粉植株的诱导率远较水稻、烟草、小麦等
